Per 5 mL Triprolidine HCl 1.25 mg, pseudoephedrine HCl 30 mg
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of sneezing, stuffy nose & rhinorrhoea caused by seasonal, allergic & vasomotor rhinitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 10 mL 4-6 hrly, childn 6-11 yr 5 mL 4-6 hrly, 4-5 yr 3.75 mL 4-6 hrly, 2-3 yr 2.5 mL 4-6 hrly, 4 mth-1 yr 1.25 mL 4-6 hrly.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Uncontrolled HTN & hyperthyroidism. Concomitant MAOIs & w/in 2 wk of cessation of therapy.
Special Precautions
Narrow-angle glaucoma, pyloroduodenal obstruction, prostatic hypertrophy, diabetes, ischaemic heart disease, hyperthyroidism, drowsiness, somnolence. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Severe renal or hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <6 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, nose & throat. Headache, palpitations, tachycardia, epigastric distress, anorexia, nausea, vomiting & thickening of bronchial secretions.
Drug Interactions
Sympathomimetics, MAOIs, antihypertensives, furazolidone.
