Indications/Uses
Panadol Relief of headache, backache, period pain & aches due to cold & flu, pain related to mild arthritis & fever. Panadol Optizorb Relief of fever, headache, migraine, sore throat & toothache.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Panadol tab Adult including elderly & childn ≥12 yr 1-2 tab 4-6 hrly. Max: 8 tab/24 hr. Panadol Optizorb Adult including elderly & childn ≥12 yr 1-2 caplet every 4-6 hr. Max: 8 caplets/24 hr. Childn 9-11 yr 1 caplet, 6-8 yr ½ caplet. Not >4 doses in 24-hr period.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if severe skin reactions occur. Severe infection; underwt or malnourished; patients w/ alcohol dependence. May cause allergic reactions due to Na methyl-, ethyl- & propyl-parahydroxybenzoates. Not to be used w/ other paracetamol-containing drugs. Renal or hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended in childn <6 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Allergic reactions, skin rash or peeling or mouth ulcers; unexplained bruising or bleeding.
Drug Interactions
Enhanced anticoagulant effects of warfarin & other coumarins (long-term use).
