Why do I need this medicine?
Ketotifen is used to treat symptoms caused by allergic conjunctivitis (inflammation of the mucous membranes in the eye), such as itchiness, watery or swollen eyes.
How do I use this medicine?
Use Ketotifen exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by the doctor.

How to use the eye drop solution:

1. Wash your hands.
2. Tilt you head back and, with the index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch and look upwards.
3. Hold the dropper with the other hand, as close to the eye as possible without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper to release the required number of drops into the pouch.
4. Gently close your eyes. Do not blink. Keep your eyes closed for 1 or 2 minutes.
5. Wipe any excess liquid from your face with a tissue.
6. Replace and tighten the cap of the bottle.

Do not touch/wipe/rinse the dropper tip, and do not let the dropper tip touch the eye, eyelids, or other surfaces.
What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?
Instill the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are wearing soft contact lenses, remove it before using Ketotifen eye drops. Wait for at least 10 minutes before reinserting your lenses.
What side effects could I experience?
Ketotifen may cause blurred vision. If affected, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.

Other side effects may include eye irritation, dryness, and pain.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Can I use this with other medicines?
Inform your doctor if you are using any other eyedrops.

If you are using other eyedrops, wait at least 5 minutes before applying the next eyedrop. Do not apply different eyedrops at the same time.

Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Avoid alcohol.
How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.

Throw away any remaining eye drops 4 weeks after opening. Mark the date of opening on the eye drop bottle so that you know when the bottle was opened.
