Indications and Dosage
Topical/Cutaneous
Wart removal Adult: As a 10% soln: Apply onto affected areas bid.
Child: Same as adult dose. |

Contraindications
Application to face and anogenital region, broken skin, and moles.
|

Adverse Reactions
Significant: Mild to severe eye and skin irritation.
Resp: Occupational asthma, resp (e.g. nose, throat, lungs) irritation. Dermatologic: Brown staining of skin, allergic contact dermatitis and skin sensitisation. |

Patient Counseling Information
Avoid contact w/ eyes and mucous membranes.

Action
Description:
Mechanism of Action: Glutaral is an aldehyde used as a disinfectant. It is effective against gm+ve and gm-ve bacteria, some fungi, and viruses including hepatitis B virus and HIV. It also has anhidrotic effect, drying the warts and the surrounding skin, thereby reducing the spread of lesions and facilitating easier removal of persistent warts. |
