Per tab Glucosamine sulphate KCl 500 mg, chondroitin Na sulphate 400 mg. Per sachet Glucosamine sulphate KCl 1,500 mg, chondroitin Na sulphate 1,200 mg
Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Adult 1 tab tds. Severe OA Initially, 1 tab tds for at least 8-12 wk. Mild to moderate OA 1 tab bd for at least 6 wk. Follow-up/maintenance therapy 1 tab bd for 3-4 mth. Repeated every other ≤6 mth. Powd for oral soln Adult 1 sachet once daily. Severe OA Initially 1 sachet once daily for at least 8-12 wk.
Administration
FC tab: Should be taken with food.. Powd for oral soln: Should be taken on an empty stomach: Best taken before meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients allergic to shellfish.
Special Precautions
Presence of other joint conditions/diseases. May affect insulin sensitivity & glucose tolerance; type 2 diabetes, overwt patients. Unsuitable for phenylketonurics. Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency. Avoid use during 1st trimester of pregnancy. Lactation. Avoid use in childn.
Adverse Reactions
Peripheral oedema, tachycardia; skin reactions eg, erythema, pruritus.
Drug Interactions
Impaired insulin secretion. Reduced antidiabetic effect of acarbose, acetohexamide, chlorpropamide, glipizide, glyburide, metformin, miglitol, pioglitazone, repaglinide, rosiglitazone, glimepiride, tolbutamide, troglitazone. Reduced effect of doxorubicin, etoposide, teniposide. Potentiated anticoagulant effects of warfarin.
