Indications and Dosage
Intravenous
Endotracheal intubation, Muscle relaxant in general anaesthesia Adult: Initially, 150-250 mcg/kg; additional doses of 30 mcg/kg may be given as needed.

Contraindications
Porphyria.

Special Precautions
Caution when used in renal impairment due to prolonged elimination half-life. Monitor the degree of block to prevent overdosage.

Adverse Reactions
Tachycardia and hypotension.
Potentially Fatal: Anaphylactic reactions. |

Action
Description:
Mechanism of Action: Alcuronium chloride is a benzylisoquinolinium competitive neuromuscular blocker. It is used for endotracheal intubation and to produce muscle relaxation in general anaesthesia during surgical procedures. Onset: About 2 minutes. Duration: 20-30 minutes. |
