Antispasmodic
Adult: 100 mg bid/tid or 200 mg bid.

Administration
May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications
GIT stenosis, megacolon; circulatory failure.

Special Precautions
If given IV, tiropramide should be inj slowly, especially in patients with low arterial BP. Increase dosing intervals or avoid taking on empty stomach in the event of GI side effects. Pregnancy.

Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, constipation, allergic reactions.

Mechanism of Action: Tiropramide is an antispasmodic and acts by increasing the intracellular level of cAMP in the smooth muscular cell and binding of calcium ions to the sarcoplasmic reticulum. |
