Administration
Should be taken with food. Take w/ or immediately after meals.

Special Precautions
Pregnancy, lactation.

Adverse Reactions
Adverse GI effects, anorexia, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation. Anaemia, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia.

Drug Interactions
Possible increased risk of seizures when used with ciprofloxacin and norfloxacin. May also increase serum levels of warfarin, methotrexate, lithium salts and sulphonylurea derivatives.

Mechanism of Action: Loxoprofen is a non-selective cyclooxygenase inhibitor. It works by reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid. It is a prodrug that is rapidly converted to its active metabolite after oral admin. |
