Paracetamol micronized
Indications/Uses
Reduce fever including fever due to flu & after immunization, relief of pain eg, headache, toothache.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apetic oral drops Childn 1-2 yr 0.6-1.2 mL, <1 yr 0.6 mL. Susp Childn 9-12 yr 15-20 mL, 6-9 yr 10-15 mL, 2-6 yr 5-10 mL, 1-2 yr 5 mL, 0-1 yr 2.5 mL. Apetic Forte susp Childn >12 yr 10 mL, 6-12 yr 5-10 mL. To be taken 3-4 times daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe hepatic dysfunction.
Special Precautions
Kidney disease, alcohol consumption. Concomitant use w/ warfarin or other anticoagulants. May increase risk of metabolic acidosis in patients w/ acute infections.
Adverse Reactions
Rarely, liver damage (prolonged use & high dose). Hypersensitivity reactions (redness, itching, peeled skin), resp disorders (including those caused by aspirin & NSAIDs), oedema of lip, tongue, throat, face; stomatitis; bruise; bleeding.
