Indications/Uses
Testosterone replacement therapy in male hypogonadal disorders. Osteoporosis due to androgen deficiency.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 mL deep IM every 3 wk.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Peanut or soya allergy. Known or suspected prostatic or mammary carcinoma. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Digital rectal exam of the prostate & PSA to exclude benign prostate hyperplasia or a sub-clinical prostate cancer; hematocrit & hemoglobin to exclude polycythemia; preexisting cardiac, renal or hepatic disease. Sleep apnea. Adiposity or chronic lung disease. Monitor pre-pubertal statural growth & sexual development. Childn <3 yr. Premature infant or neonate.
Increased/decreased levels w/ enzyme inhibitors/inducers. Decreased need for insulin & other antidiabetics. Enhanced anticoagulant action of coumarins.
