Plasma protein fraction (human)
Indications/Uses
Treatment of shock due to burns, crushing injuries, abdominal emergencies, haemorrhage, & any other where there is a predominant loss of plasma fluids. Initial therapy of shock due to dehydration & infection in infants & small childn.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 250-500 mL.
Contraindications
Cardiopulmonary bypass. Severe hypotension. Severe anaemia, CHF, increased blood vol.
Special Precautions
BP monitoring. Not for the treatment of coagulation disorders. Infectious disease transmission. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Hypotension, flushing, urticaria, back pain, nausea, headache.
Drug Interactions
Protein hydrolysates, alcohol.
