Indications/Uses

Dosage/Direction for Use
Chronic stable angina pectoris 10-20 mg bd. Vasospastic angina pectoris & essential HTN 10-20 mg bd. May be increased to 20-40 mg bd.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush. Avoid grapefruit juice.
Contraindications
Unstable angina pectoris, cardiocirculatory collapse, high-grade aortic stenosis, acute MI. Pregnancy, lactation.
Special Precautions
Severe hypotension, decompensated cardiac insufficiency. Dialysis patient w/ malignant hypertonia or hypovolemia. Liver impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, flushing, sensation of heat (erythema, erythromelalgia), tachycardia, palpitations, leg edema, dizziness, fatigue.
Drug Interactions
Avoid concomitant treatment w/ rifampicin. TCA, nitrates, diltiazem, β-blockers, cimetidine, quinidine, digoxin, theophylline, vincristine, cephalosporins.
