Indications/Uses
Prophylaxis & long-term treatment of angina pectoris due to CAD.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 30 mg once daily in the morning for the 1st 2-4 days. Increase to 60 mg once daily thereafter. Max: 120 mg/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be divided along the score-line. Swallow whole or half tab, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Hypovolaemia, hypotension, shock, closed-angle glaucoma, raised intracranial pressure, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, aortic stenosis & acute MI. Avoid sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil.
Special Precautions
Severe hepatic or renal impairment, hypothyroidism, malnutrition, hypothermia, recent history of MI. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, tachycardia, palpitations, orthostatic hypotension.
Drug Interactions
Orthostatic hypotension may occur w/ combined use of Ca-channel blockers, antihypertensives, phenothiazines, TCA & alcohol. Sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil.
