Indications/Uses
Increase in oncotic pressure in case of oncotic deficiency. Diluted as a 4-5% soln for iso-oncotic vol replacement w/ long-term effect. Therapy of albumin deficiency.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Patients w/ hypervolaemia, haemodilution, decompensated cardiac insufficiency, HTN, oesophageal varices, pulmonary oedema, haemorrhagic diathesis, severe anemia, renal & postrenal anuria. Assure adequate hydration. Monitor circulatory overload or hyperhydration, electrolyte balance. If large vol are to be replaced, ensure adequate substitution of other blood constituents (coagulation factor, electrolytes, platelets & erythrocytes). Do not dilute albumin soln w/ water for inj. Controlled Na diet.
Adverse Reactions
Chills, fever, nausea, vomiting, headache, malaise, flush. Rash, itching, urticaria, dyspnoea, tachycardia, bradycardia, hypotension.
