Overdosage

Administration
Should be taken with food: Administer w/in 15 min before or immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Hypoglycaemia.

Special Precautions
Monitor blood glucose regularly. Hypoglycemia after switching from animal to human insulin. Recent illness; increased physical activity. Risk of heart failure in patients w/ long-standing type 2 DM & heart disease or previous stroke treated w/ pioglitazone & insulin. Concomitant intake w/ alcohol. Hepatic or renal impairment. May impair ability to drive & use machines. Pregnancy & lactation.

Adverse Reactions
Local allergy. Redness, swelling or itching around the area of insulin inj.
Drug Interactions
Insulin needs may change if taken concomitantly w/ OCs, steroids, thyroid hormone replacement therapy, oral hypoglycaemics, acetyl salicylic acid, sulpha antibiotics, octreotide, β2-stimulants (eg, ritodrine, salbutamol or terbutaline), β-blockers, some antidepressants (MAOIs or SSRIs), danazol, some ACE inhibitors (eg, captopril, enalapril), AIIAs.
