Famotidine
Indications/Uses
Duodenal & benign gastric ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Prevention of relapses.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Duodenal & benign gastric ulcer 40 mg at bedtime for 4-8 wk. Prevention of relapses 20 mg at night. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome 20-160 mg 6 hrly.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 15-30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Gastric neoplasm, kidney & liver impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, constipation & diarrhoea.
Drug Interactions
May irritate stomach & worsen the condition w/ aspirin.
