Diphenoxylate HCl 2.5 mg, atropine sulfate 25 mcg
Indications/Uses
Adjunctive therapy in the management of diarrhea.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-2 tab tds or qds. Max: 8 tab/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Intestinal obstruction. Diarrhoea associated w/ pseudomembranous enterocolitis. Diarrhoea caused by enterotoxin-producing bacteria.
Special Precautions
Liver diseases. Childn <12 yr. Inflammatory bowel disease.
Adverse Reactions
GI intolerance, paralytic ileus, toxic megacolon, CNS disturbances, numbness of extremities, euphoria, allergic reactions. Atropinic effects, including dry mouth, flushing, dry skin, urinary urgency, constipation.
Drug Interactions
Potentiates effects of other CNS depressants. MAOIs.
