Chlorpheniramine maleate
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of allergy eg, hay fever, urticaria, runny nose, sneezing, allergic skin conditions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Adult & childn >12 yr 1 tab. Childn 6-12 yr ½ tab. To be taken tds-qds. Syr Adult 5 mL tds-qds. Childn 6-12 yr 2.5 mL tds-qds.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid alcohol. May enhance the sedative effect of CNS depressants. May also enhance effects of anticholinergic drugs administered concomitantly. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Sedation, dizziness, muscular weakness, incoordination, GI disturbances, difficulty in micturition, dry mouth, blurred vision.
Drug Interactions
Alcohol, CNS depressants, anticholinergics, MAOIs.
