Contraindications
Pregnancy; lactation.

Special Precautions
Monitor for eye colour change; risk factors for cystoid macular oedema. An interval of at least 5 min to be observed between different eyedrops. Contact lens to be re-inserted at least 15 min after application of unoprostone.

Adverse Reactions
Conjunctival hyperaemia, brown pigmentation particularly in those with mixed-color irides; ocular irritation and pain; darkening, thickening and lengthening of eyelashes; keratitis; corneal erosion and pain; discharge; burning; ocular itching; punctate epithelial keratopathy; headache; nasal congestion; dry mouth; tongue tip numbness; nausea; vomiting; palpitation; cystoid macular oedema; uveitis.

Action
Description: Unoprostone, a synthetic analogue of dinoprost (prostaglandin F2α), decreases intraocular pressure by increasing the uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humour.
