Indications and Dosage
Topical/Cutaneous
Tinea corporis, Tinea cruris, Tinea versicolor
Adult: As 1% cream or solution: Apply a small amount and gently massage onto the affected and surrounding area(s) 1-2 times daily. Treatment duration: 3 weeks. Re-evaluate the diagnosis if significant clinical improvement does not occur after 4-6 weeks.

Topical/Cutaneous
Tinea pedis
Adult: As 1% cream: Apply a small amount and gently massage onto the affected and surrounding area(s) bid. Treatment duration: 4 weeks. Re-evaluate the diagnosis if significant clinical improvement does not occur after 4-6 weeks.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Patient with hypersensitivity to other imidazole or triazole antifungal agents. The 1% topical solution is not indicated for the treatment of tinea pedis. Pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Significant: Skin irritation or sensitivity.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Localised burning and stinging sensation, pruritus, erythema.
Patient Counseling Information
Avoid contact with eyes.
Action
Description: Sulconazole is an imidazole derivative synthetic antifungal agent. It inhibits the metabolic reactions necessary for the synthesis of ergosterol, thereby causing changes in membrane permeability and alterations in cell volume, secondary metabolic effects, and defective cell division and growth inhibition.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption: Absorbed percutaneously (approx 8.7-11%).
Excretion: Mainly via urine.
