Rosuvastatin
Indications/Uses
For the reduction of total blood cholesterol, LDL cholesterol & triglyceride levels, & to increase HDL cholesterol levels.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Initially 5 mg once daily. Max: 40 mg daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Perform liver test measurements periodically.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea & muscle pain.
Drug Interactions
Increased side effects w/ cyclosporine. Increased the risk of bleeding w/ warfarin. Antacids reduce the absorption of rosuvastatin. Increase the incidence of muscle injury w/ nicotinic acid, gemfibrozil.
