Indications/Uses

Reduction of atherothrombotic events in patients w/ recent MI, recent stroke or established peripheral arterial disease; acute coronary syndrome.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Recent MI, recent stroke or established peripheral arterial disease 75 mg once daily. Non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina/non-Q wave MI) Initially 300 mg loading dose & then continued at 75 mg once daily. ST-segment elevation acute MI 75 mg once daily in combination w/ aspirin w/ or w/o thrombolytics.

Overdosage

Contraindications

Special Precautions

Impaired CYP2C19 function. Patients at risk of increased bleeding from trauma, surgery or other pathological conditions. Discontinue 5 days prior to surgery. Perform blood cell count determinations. Lesions w/ a propensity to bleed. Severe hepatic & renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.

Chest pain, accidental/inflicted injury, flu-like symptoms, pain, fatigue. Asthenia, fever, hernia. Edema, HTN, cardiac failure. Headache, dizziness, leg cramps, hypoesthesia, neuralgia, paraesthesia, vertigo. GI disturbances, metabolic & nutritional disorders. Arthralgia, back pain, arthritis, arthrosis. Purpura, epistaxis, GI hemorrhage, hematoma & decreased platelet. Psychiatric & resp disorders. UTI. Cataract, conjunctivitis. Anemia.
