Per Respira tab Ambroxol HCl 15 mg, salbutamol sulphate 2 mg, guaifenesin 100 mg. Per 5 mL Respira oral liqd Ambroxol HCl 15 mg, salbutamol sulphate 1 mg, guaifenesin 50 mg. Per 5 mL Respira-D oral liqd Dextromethorphan HBr 10 mg, chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg

Indications/Uses

Respira Productive cough w/ difficulty in breathing. Respira-D Symptomatic relief of nasal & sinus congestion & cough associated w/ colds & flu.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Respira tab Adult 1 tab tds-qds. Respira oral liqd Adult 5-10 mL tds-qds. Childn >2 yr 5 mL tds-qds. Respira-D oral liqd Adult 10 mL qds. Childn 6-12 yr 5-10 mL tds, 1-5 yr 2.5-5 mL tds.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity. Hyperthyroidism. CV disease eg ischaemic heart disease, arrhythmia or tachycardia. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <1 yr. Respira Acute porphyria. Respira-D Stop administration w/ MAOIs or w/in 14 days of stopping the treatment. Occlusive vascular disorders, including arteriosclerosis, HTN or aneurysms; DM; closed-angle glaucoma.

Adverse Reactions

GI disturbances, headache, dry mouth & skin rashes. Tremor, nervous tension, peripheral vasodilatation, palpitation, tachycardia. Respira-D Dizziness, tinnitus, lassitude, incoordination, fatigue, blurred vision, diplopia, euphoria, insomnia; dry throat & resp passages; urinary frequency & dysuria; hypotension; tightness of the chest & tingling, heaviness & weakness of the hands.

Drug Interactions

Chlorpheniramine maleate: Tricyclic depressants, guanethidine, reserpine, methyldopa, atropine.
