Indications and Dosage
Oral
Cerebrovascular and mental function disorders
Adult: 600 mg daily, given in 3 divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken with food. Take w/ a large glass of water. Swallow whole, do not chew/ crush.
Special Precautions
Rheumatoid arthritis.
Adverse Reactions
Epigastric distress; anorexia; nausea; vomiting; headache; insomnia; pruritus and rash; restlessness.
Potentially Fatal: Acute pancreatitis, severe cholestatic hepatitis.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant therapy with gold, levamisole or D-penicillamine.
Action
Description: Pyritinol improves cerebral function in patients with cerebral dysfunction. Memory and coordination improved. Promotes glucose reuptake by the brain and has been used in various cerebrovascular disorders.
