Indications and Dosage
Oral
Allergic conditions Adult: As tartrate: 25 mg every 4-6 hr. Max: 150 mg in 24 hr.
Child: As tartrate: ≥6 yr: 12.5 mg every 4-6 hr. Max: 75 mg in 24 hr. |

Special Precautions
Narrow-angle glaucoma, GI ulcer, urinary retention (enlarged prostate), heart disease, hypertension, convulsions, respiratory disease, hyperthyroidism. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy and lactation.

Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, stomach upset, visual disturbances, irritability, dry mouth. CNS stimulation may occur in certain individuals.

Overdosage
Symptoms: In children: Abnormal eye movements, facial flushing, dry mouth, fever, excitation, agitation, bizarre behaviour, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, tiredness, trembling, slurred speech, seizures, abnormal tongue movement. In adults: Drowsiness, unconsciousness, excitement, seizures.

Drug Interactions
Additive CNS depression with alcohol, barbiturates, hypnotics, opioid analgesics, anxiolytic sedatives and neuroleptics, other CNS depressants.

Lab Interference
May interfere with skin allergy testing.
