Active gastric duodenal ulcer 20 mg/day for 2-4 wk. Severe duodenal ulcer 40 mg/day for 4-8 wk. Reflux oesophagitis 20 mg/day for 4-8 wk. Severe erosive oesophagitis 20-40 mg/day for 4-8 wk. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome 60 mg/day, duration adjusted to response. Elderly or patients w/ renal or hepatic impairment Dosage adjustment is not necessary.
Dose-related increase in gastric carcinoid tumours. Increased risk for the development of tumors in patients receiving long-term therapy. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
May interfere w/ cytochrome P-450 & induce or inhibit the metabolism of diazepam, warfarin & phenytoin. May interfere absorption of ketoconazole, ampicillin, esters & Fe salts.
