Indications/Uses
Acute phase of a stroke; treatment of complications & consequences of a stroke; craniocerebral injury & its consequences; cognitive, sensitive, motor & neurological disorders caused by cerebral pathology of degenerative or vascular origin.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Adult 500-2,000 mg/day. Inj Disturbance of consciousness resulting from head injury or brain operation Adult 100-500 mg once or bd by IV drip infusion, IV or IM inj. May adjust dose according to age & condition. Disturbance of consciousness in acute stage of cerebral infarction 1,000 mg once a day by IV inj for 2 consecutive wk.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Administer w/ caution to patients w/ trimethylaminuria, Parkinson's disease & depression in anamnesis. Do not exceed the dose of 1,000 mg daily in very slow IV administration (30 drops/min) in case of persistent intracranial hemorrhage. Hypotension. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, tremor; nausea, vomiting, gastric pain, hyper salivation, insignificant change of hepatic function indexes, diarrhea; redness, urticaria, exanthem; hallucinations, excitement, insomnia; arterial HTN or hypotension; dyspnea; increase of body temp, fever sensation, trembling & edema.
Drug Interactions
Enhanced effects of L-dihydroxyphenylalanine & levodopa. Do not use w/ alcohol & drugs containing meclofenoxate.
