Nicotinamide is used to treat mild to moderate acne (pimple).
Apply Nicotinamide exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.
To apply this medicine, follow these steps:
- Wash your hands.
- Wash the affected area and let it dry before applying the medicine.
- Apply a thin film of the gel and gently massage it in.
- Wash your hands after each application.
- Allow the applied medicine to dry before using any other product or make up.
Nicotinamide must be used regularly for it to be effective. Continue using this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop using it unless instructed by the doctor.
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
If you often forget to use your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Avoid contact of this medicine with your eyes, nose or mouth. If this occurs, rinse the affected area immediately with water. Alert your doctor if you start to have any problems with your eyes.
Do not apply on large areas of your skin or if it is broken, infected, discharging fluid or pus.
Nicotinamide may cause any of the following side effects: dryness, irritation or peeling, itching, redness, and swelling or burning sensation of the skin.
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe or if you experience other side effects.
Let your doctor know if you are using any creams, ointments or other medicines on the affected area.
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
