Indications/Uses
Cerebral apoplexy & its after-effects, head trauma, chronic blood vessel disease, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease; degenerated optic nerve disease & glaucoma.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cerebral apoplexy, effects after cerebral apoplexy & head trauma 250-1,000 mg/day IV/IM. Hemiplegia after cerebral apoplexy 250 or 500 mg IV once daily for 4 wk. Chronic blood vessel disease & degenerated optic nerve disease 250 mg IV once daily. Concomitant therapy w/ anticholinergic agents 250-1,000 mg plus anticholinergic agents every day for 3-4 wk.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Administer as slow IV. IM administration should be cautioned to nervous tissue & nerve pathway. Patients w/ high BP or heart/blood vessel disease. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Low BP, tiredness, oppressive feeling, rash, loss of sleep, headache, vertigo, excitability & cramps.
