Tell the doctor if the patient is using, has recently used or might use any other medicines. This is because MEROPENEM can affect the way some medicines work and some medicines can have an effect on MEROPENEM.
In particular, tell the doctor or nurse if the patient is taking any of the following medicines: Probenecid (used to treat gout).
Sodium valproate (used to treat epilepsy). MEROPENEM should not be used because it may decrease the effect of sodium valproate.
