Clotrimazole, beclomethasone dipropionate, gentamicin.
Lamonte-BG contains clotrimazole 1% w/w, beclomethasone dipropionate 0.025% w/w and gentamicin sulphate equivalent to gentamicin 0.1% w/w.
It also contains the following preservatives: Methyl hydroxybenzoate 0.15% w/w, propyl hydroxybenzoate 0.08% w/w and benzyl alcohol 1% w/w.
Lamonte-BG is odourless, can be washed off and does not stain.
Pharmacology: Classification: Fungicides and antibiotic cream.
Mechanism of Action: Lamonte-BG is a broad-spectrum antimycotic with fungicidal properties having corticosteroids with an anti-infective agent.
All dermatomycoses due to dermatophytes (eg, Trichophyton sp). Dermatomycoses due to moulds and other fungi. Skin diseases with secondary infection by these fungi.
The dermatomycoses include among others: Mycoses of the skin and skin folds, ringworm, interdigital mycoses eg, athlete's foot, pityriasis versicolor, erythrasma and paronychias (associated with nail mycoses).
Apply thinly to the affected areas 2-3 times daily and rub in. Successful treatment demands that Lamonte-BG cream be applied correctly. The duration of treatment varies. In general, it is 3-4 weeks in the case of dermatomycoses due to dermatophytes and approximately 3 weeks in erythrasma and pityriasis versicolor.
Treatment of fungal infection should be continued for approximately 2 weeks after the disappearance of all symptoms despite a rapid, subjective improvement in order to prevent relapse.
Athlete's Foot: Always dry the feet carefully especially between the toes.
Possible sensitivity to clotrimazole.
Rosacea, acne, perioral dermatitis, tuberculosis of the skin and varicose ulcers.
Lamonte-BG is not indicated for ophthalmic use and should be used with caution around the eyes.
Teratogenicity: Corticosteroids have been shown to be teratogenic in animals following dermal application. As these agents are absorbed percutaneously, teratogenicity following topical application cannot be excluded.
Use in pregnancy: Lamonte-BG should not be used during pregnancy.
Lamonte-BG should be used for short courses only, as prolonged and intensive treatment may cause local atrophic changes in the skin eg, stria, thinning, loss of elasticity, dilatation of the superficial blood vessels, telangiectasia and ecchymosis.
Use in lactation: The use of Lamonte-BG is not recommended during lactation.
Use in pregnancy: Lamonte-BG should not be used during pregnancy.

Local reaction including irritation and burning may occur. Contact allergic dermatitis can occur. If this occurs, treatment should be discontinued.
Store in a cool, dark place. Do not freeze.
