Each 5 ml contains: Bromhexine HCl 10 mg, Glyceryl Guaiacolate 50 mg.
Action
Konidin Mucolytic - Expectorant is a combination of mucolytic and expectorant. Bromhexine HCl and Glyceryl Guaiacolate work directly on mucus secreting cells in respiratory tract by breaking the acid mucopolysaccharide fibres. The breakdown of mucopolysaccharide fibres makes the sputum thinner and less viscid and therefore more easily removed by coughing.
Indications/Uses
Relief of productive cough symptoms and all forms of upper and lower respiratory tract conditions associated with retention of viscid mucous secretion.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Children 5-10 years: 3 times daily 1 teaspoonful (2.5 ml).
Adults and children > 10 years: 3 times daily 1 teaspoonful (5 ml).
Special Precautions
Warning should be given to patient with peptic ulcer. It may cause gastrointestinal discomforts and increase transaminase level. Special precaution is also given to pregnancy women especially the first trimester.

Side Effects
Gastrointestinal discomforts such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, peptic ulcer and headache. It has been reported that it may cause excessive sweat, headache and vertigo.
