Enalapril maleate 10 mg, nitrendipine 20 mg
Indications/Uses
HTN in patients not adequately controlled on enalapril nor nifedipine alone.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Avoid grapefruit juice.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. CV shock, cardiac insufficiency; recent diagnosis of angina pectoris, MI or cerebral infarction; diseases caused by narrow heart valves. Narrowed renal arteries; serious hepatic impairment or patients on haemodialysis. Serious hepatic failure. Pregnancy (immediately discontinue due to potential damage of fetal death), or suspected pregnancy; lactation. Childn & adolescents.
Special Precautions
Severe hypersensitivity reactions. Fever or infection during treatment. Cardiac diseases. Occurrence of side effects at the beginning of treatment. Fluid loss due to diuretics, diarrhoea or vomiting, low-salt diet for potential orthostatic hypotension. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Renal impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, facial redness, cough, swollen legs.
Drug Interactions
May increase antihypertensive effects w/ other antihypertensive agents. Do not use w/ K-sparing diuretics, K supplements & other agents that increase K blood levels. Caution when used w/ lithium, muscle relaxants, NSAIDs, oral antidiabetics, baclofen, antipsychotics, antidepressants, allopurinol, cytostatics, immunosuppressants, systemic glucocorticoids, procainamide, amifostine, cimetidine, ranitidine, digoxin, anticonvulsants, rifampicin & antifungals.
