Special Precautions
Do not apply near the eyes, to mucous membranes, broken skin or areas of skin flexion, as irritation or blistering may occur.
Adverse Reactions
Occasional hypersensitivity; systemic toxicity in child after large topical doses.
Potentially Fatal: Toxic encephalopathy esp in child who have received larges doses. Seizures, CV toxicity and maniac psychosis.
Overdosage
Symptoms: coma, seizures and hypotension.
Action
Description: Diethyltoluamide is an insect repellant which is effective against mosquitoes as well as blackflies, harvest-bugs or chigers, midges, ticks, fleas and leeches. It is also useful for protection against malaria.
