Per 100 g Betamethasone valerate 0.1 g (0.1% w/w), clotrimazole 1 g (1% w/w)
Indications/Uses
As secondary agent in topical treatment of tinea corporis (ringworm of the body), tinea cruris (jock itch; ringworm of the groin) & tinea pedis (athlete's foot; ringworm of the foot).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult, adolescent & childn ≥12 yr Apply to the affected skin & surrounding areas bd (morning & evening) for 2 wk (tinea corporis or tinea cruris) or 4 wk (tinea pedis).
Contraindications
Consider risk-benefit: Allergy to corticosteroids; infection at treatment site; preexisting skin atrophy.
Special Precautions
Avoid occlusive dressing. Prolonged & excessive use. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Allergic contact dermatitis. Folliculitis, furunculosis, pustules, pyoderma or vesiculation, skin atrophy.
