Indications/Uses
Wild-type or hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis in adults w/ cardiomyopathy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not crush/cut.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Discontinue use in organ transplant patients. Patients w/ NYHA class IV. Monitor for increase in LFTs & decrease in thyroxine levels. Concomitant use w/ sorbitol- or fructose-containing medicinal products. Severe hepatic & renal impairment. Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during & for 1 mth after last dose. Not recommended during pregnancy. Not to be used during lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Flatulence, increased LFTs; diarrhoea; rash, pruritus.
Drug Interactions
Inhibited efflux transporter BCRP & increased systemic exposure of BCRP substrates eg, MTX, rosuvastatin, imatinib. Decreased serum conc of total thyroxine.
