Flavoxate HCl
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of dysuria, vesical suprapubic pain, nocturia, frequency & incontinence associated w/ cystitis, prostatitis, urethritis & urethrotrigonitis. Relief of vesico-urethral spasm due to catheterisation, cytoscopy or indwelling catheters & sequelae or surgical intervention of lower urinary tract.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1 tab tds.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Pyloric or duodenal obstruction, obstructive intestinal lesions or ileus, achalasia, GI haemorrhage & obstructive uropathies of lower urinary tract.
Special Precautions
Glaucoma. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, vertigo, headache, mental confusion (especially elderly), drowsiness, nervousness, leukopenia, tachycardia, palpitations, allergic reactions, visual disturbances.
Drug Interactions
Anticholinergic agents, CNS depressants.
