Tedizolid phosphate
Indications/Uses
Acute bacterial skin & skin structure infections caused by susceptible isolates of gm +ve microorganisms in adults ≥18 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
FC tab 200 mg once daily for 6 days. IV infusion 200 mg once daily over 1 hr for 6 days.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Not to be inj IV push or bolus. Not intended for intra-arterial, IM, intrathecal, IP or SC inj. Discontinue use if Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea is suspected or confirmed. Patients w/ neutropenia (neutrophil counts <1,000 cells/mm3); increased risk of drug-resistant bacteria development. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <18 yr. Elderly ≥65 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness; nausea, diarrhea, vomiting; generalised pruritus; fatigue, infusion site reactions (phlebitis).
Drug Interactions
Increased plasma conc of BCRP substrates. Incompatibility w/ any divalent cation-containing soln including Lactated Ringer's inj, Hartmann's soln.
