Per 1.5 mL Live attenuated human rotavirus RIX4414 strain not <106 CCID50
Indications/Uses
Prevention of gastroenteritis caused by rotavirus, G1 & non-G1 serotypes eg, G2, G3, G4, G8, G9, G12.
Dosage/Direction for Use
2-dose oral vaccine: 1st dose may be given from 6 wk of age. There should be at least 4-wk interval between doses & vaccination should be completed by 24 wk of age.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to vaccine or after previous inj. History of intussusception; uncorrected congenital GIT malformation eg, Meckel's diverticulum; severe combined immunodeficiency disorder.
Special Precautions
Not to be inj. Not for protection against gastroenteritis due to other pathogens. Not to be used in adults. Postpone vaccination in patients w/ acute severe febrile illness; diarrhoea or vomiting. Patients predisposed to intussusception. Patients w/ immunodeficient close contacts eg, w/ malignancies, immunocompromised or on immunosuppressive therapy. Infants w/ GI illnesses; immunosuppressed infants.
