Hypersensitivity to epirubicin or any other component of the product, other anthracyclines or anthracenediones.
Situations in which patients should not be treated with intravenous Pharmorubicin are: persisting myelosuppression or severe stomatitis induced by previous drug therapy or radiotherapy; presence of generalised infections; marked liver function impairment; previous history of, or in the presence of, cardiac impairment (severe arrhythmias and cardiomyopathy, previous myocardial infarction); unstable angina pectoris; previous treatments with maximum cumulative doses of mitoxantrone, mitomycin C or other anthracyclines, such as doxorubicin or daunorubicin; pregnancy and lactation.
Contraindications for intravesical use are: invasive tumours that have penetrated the bladder wall; urinary infections; inflammation of the bladder; catheterisation problems; haematuria.
