Oxymetazoline HCl
Indications/Uses
Relief of nasal congestion.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Nasal spray 0.05% Adult & childn ≥6 yr 2-3 sprays into each nostril bd Nasal drops 0.05% Adult & childn >6 yr 2-3 drops into each nostril bd. Nasal spray 0.025% Childn 2-6 yr 2-3 sprays into each nostril bd. Nasal drops 0.025% Childn >1 yr 1-2 drops bd-tds. Max duration: 3 days.
Special Precautions
HTN, CAD, hyperthyroidism, DM, urinary difficulty due to prostate enlargement. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Local stinging or burning, sneezing, dry mouth & throat. Rebound congestion & drug-induced rhinitis w/ prolonged use.
