Indications/Uses
In combination w/ recombinant FSH for prevention of premature LH surges in women undergoing controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) for assisted reproduction techniques (ART).
Dosage/Direction for Use
0.25 mg SC once daily starting on day 6 of FSH administration. COH w/ FSH May start at day 2 or 3 of menstruation. High responders Early LH rise may be prevented by starting treatment on day 5.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ganirelix, dry natural rubber/latex, gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) or any other GnRH analogue. Moderate or severe renal or hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if hypersensitivity reaction is suspected. Not to be used in women w/ severe allergic conditions. May cause allergic reactions due to dry natural rubber/latex. Women <50 kg or >90 kg. Not to be used during pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Local inj site reaction; headache; nausea; pelvic pain, abdominal distension, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, ectopic pregnancy, spontaneous abortion.
