Orphenadrine citrate
Indications/Uses
Adjunct to rest, physical therapy & other measures for relief of discomfort associated w/ acute painful musculoskeletal conditions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
2 tab daily, 1 in the morning & 1 in the evening.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Patients w/ glaucoma, pyloric or duodenal obstruction, stenosing peptic ulcer, prostatic hypertrophy or bladder neck obstruction, cardio-spasm (megaesophagus) & myasthenia gravis.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ tachycardia, cardiac decompensation, coronary insufficiency or cardiac arrhythmias. Avoid alcohol ingestion. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Mouth dryness. Tachycardia, palpitation, urinary hesitancy or retention, blurred vision, pupil dilatation, increased ocular tension, weakness, nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, constipation, drowsiness, hypertensive reactions, pruritus, hallucinations, agitation, tremor, gastric irritation.
Drug Interactions
Induced enzymatic systems involving metabolism of aminopyrine, steroidal contraceptives, griseofulvin, hexobarbital & phenylbutazone. Potentiation w/ other anticholinergic agents.
