Indications and Dosage
Topical/Cutaneous
Cutaneous candidiasis, Dermatophytosis, Pityriasis versicolor Adult: As nitrate: As 1% cream: Apply once daily. As 1% powder or 1% solution: Apply bid. Vaginal Vaginal candidiasis Adult: As nitrate: As pessary: 150 mg daily for 6 days, 300 mg for 3 days or 900 mg as a single dose.

Pregnancy; lactation; infants. May damage latex contraceptives.

Description:
Mechanism of Action: Omoconazole is an imidazole antifungal which inhibits the cytochrome P450-dependent enzymes, resulting in impairment of ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes. Pharmacokinetics: Distribution: Plasma concentration: 2-3% of locally administered dose. Excretion: Via renal and biliary excretion. |
