Doxazosin mesylate
Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 tab daily. Max: 2 tab once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not chew/break/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to doxazosin or other quinazoline derivatives eg, prazosin, terazosin.
Special Precautions
Orthostatic hypotension (especially elderly & concomitant use w/ antihypertensives or diuretics); priapism. Altered absorption & efficacy in accelerated passage through GIT. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Hepatic impairment. Pregnancy. Not recommended during lactation. Childn & adolescents.
Adverse Reactions
Dry mouth; asthenia, back & chest pain, flu-like symptoms; peripheral edema, orthostatic hypotension, hypotension, tachycardia, palpitations; dizziness, headache, vertigo; abdominal pain, nausea, dyspepsia; myalgia; somnolence; bronchitis, cough, resp tract infections, rhinitis; pruritus; UTI, urinary incontinence.
