Indications and Dosage
Parenteral
Susceptible infections
Adult: Up to 15 mg/kg daily by IM injection or IV infusion in 2 divided doses. Adjust dose based on serum isepamicin conc monitoring. Total dose should not exceed 1.5 g/day.
Contraindications
Pregnancy; hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Myasthenia gravis; regular assessment of auditory and renal function is necessary in patients with additional risk factors. Cystic fibrosis, obesity.
Adverse Reactions
Ototoxicity; nephrotoxicity; electrolyte disturbances; respiratory depression; muscular paralysis; cross-sensitivity with other aminoglycosides.
Drug Interactions
Other nephrotoxic drugs eg, vancomycin, cephalosphorins, ciclosporin, cisplatin and fludarabine; potentially ototoxic drugs eg, ethacrynic acid, furosemide; neuromuscular-blocking agents; general anesthetics; opioids; β-lactams; dimenhydrinate.

Description:
Mechanism of Action: Isepamicin is a semisynthetic aminoglycoside which inhibits protein synthesis by binding to 30s and 50s ribosomal subunits in susceptible bacteria.
