Terazosin HCl
Indications/Uses
HTN. Symptomatic relief of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Dosage/Direction for Use
HTN 1-5 mg once daily, may be increased to bd. BPH 5-10 mg once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to terazosin or its analogues.
Special Precautions
Syncope, history of micturition syncope; orthostatic hypotension. Intraoperative floppy iris syndrome. Concomitant use w/ phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) inhibitors. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Not recommended during pregnancy. Lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Asthenia, headache; blurred vision; dizziness, somnolence; nasal congestion; nausea; peripheral edema; palpitations, postural hypotension; impotence.
Drug Interactions
Hypotension w/ other antihypertensive agents eg, Ca antagonists, PDE-5 inhibitors. ACE inhibitors, diuretics.
