Indications/Uses
Paracetamol poisoning.
Dosage/Direction for Use
By IV infusion. Adult Initial dose: 150 mg/kg in 200 mL of 5% glucose inj over 15 min. 2nd dose: 50 mg/kg in 500 mL of 5% glucose at slow infusion rate for 4 hr. 3rd dose: 100 mg/kg in 1 L of 5% glucose over 16 hr.
Special Precautions
Bronchial asthma, peptic ulceration, monitor coagulation factors.
Adverse Reactions
Rarely, urticaria, angioedema, bronchospasm, nausea, vomiting, HTN, tachycardia, dizziness & fever.
