Indications and Dosage

Mouth/Throat
Local infections, Oral hygiene

Adult: As 0.1% soln: Rinse or gargle 15 mL undiluted soln bid-tid. Do not swallow.
Child: ≥6 yr Same as adult dose.

Special Precautions

Childn.

Adverse Reactions

GI: Taste disturbances, transient anaesthesia, irritation, sensitization.

Action

Description:
Mechanism of Action: Hexetidine is a bactericidal and fungicidal antiseptic w/ a broad spectrum antimicrobial activity against gm +ve and gm –ve bacteria, yeasts (e.g. Candida albicans) and fungi.
