Fusidic acid
Indications/Uses
Skin infections caused by staphylococci, streptococci, Propionibacterium acnes, Corynebacterium minutissimum & other fusidic acid-sensitive organisms; impetigo, infected wounds, folliculitis, boils, sycosis barbae, carbuncles, hidradenitis, paronychia, erythrasma.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply thin layer onto affected area bd-tds for 7 days. Acne May be extended for longer period.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Infections caused by non-susceptible organisms.
Special Precautions
Increased risk of developing antibiotic resistance & contact sensitisation due to extended or recurrent use. Avoid contact w/ eyes, nose & mouth; application to breast.
Adverse Reactions
Pruritus, rash, application site conditions eg, pain, irritation.
